1,200-HP ON THE MENU IN TOP TUNE, MILDER VERSIONS ALSO AVAILABLE
Supercharger manufacturer Vortech is no stranger to SEMA, and a few weeks before crowds fill the exhibition halls at the Las Vegas Convention Center, the company has released a preview of its show car. As you can see, it's a very orange 2015 Ford Mustang, but it's what is under the hood that matters.
The company's SEMA show will car will feature a number of upgrades inside and out, but the star of Vortech's show will be the V-3 Si self-lubricated supercharger which will be mated to the 5.0-liter V8 engine. In stock form, Ford's mill will produce 435 hp and 400 lb-ft of torque, but in its mildest form the Vortech V-3 Si turbocharger will turn that up to 640 hp and 485 lb-ft of torque, with a boost pressure of merely 7.5 to 8.5 psi. The V-3 Si supercharger is a self-lubricated unit which incorporates its own oil reservoir, and features a dual gate mounting system for easy installation. The supercharger setup also incorporates an air-to-air intercooler for greater power.
Vortech's show car will be finished in competition orange and will also feature a 3D Carbon front lip spoiler, 20-inch Forgestar wheels, a Baer brake system, and Magnaflow exhaust. Vortech's Mustang will also be riding a little lower, courtesy of a coilover suspension setup.

Vortech will also showcase a number of further upgrades for the 2015 Ford Mustang, which will include an eight-rib supercharger drive assembly, a fuel pump voltage booster, and a competition air inlet assembly. With the above boxes checked, the tuner kit will yield 775 hp, while an upgrade to the V-7 JT supercharger or the V-7 YSi supercharger will produce from 1,000 hp to 1,200 hp.
